I have been sharing some marks of what it takes for the church to be great! This is not just referring to our church only, but that there are many churches that are in our area that are building the kingdom of God. Every Thursday morning, I meet with a number of pastors, from Bible believing churches in our area. I look forward to our times of discussion, fellowship and praying one for another.
Another mark of a great church is - UNITY AND COMMUNITY! As believers our community needs to see the church as UNITED. Unity does not mean uniformity! What did Jesus pray for His people in John 17? He prayed that we would be one as He is one with the Father. The world does not need to see a church that is divided! Jesus said, "They will know we are Christians by our love."
Another mark of a great church is - HOLINESS. The lives of Christians should be different than those who are in the world, not because of legalism, rules, regulations, but because of our relationship with Jesus. God's Word tells us - "To come out from the world and be separate from the world.
Let us continue to be a great people and a great church!
We as Christians have more in agreement then we do in our differences. We are called to unity not debate. The Word of God is a loving testament between God and His people . It was not written or intended to be a rule book to judge but a means to bring us all together.
ReplyDelete"Be in the world, but not of the world." Doing God's will on Earth EVEN AS it's done in Heaven requires that the citizens of Heaven (us Christians) here on Earth...be OF Heaven, not of this world. Thank God that "GREATER IS HE that is in me than he that is in the world!" Jesus would say, "In the world, you WILL have tribulation, but CHEER UP! I have overcome the world!" Jesus overcame the world with the Love that is of Heaven! There is no greater love!
ReplyDeleteHeaven or bust! On Earth we MUST...let it show, let it show, LET IT SHOW!
