WHY DO WE NEED JESUS?

In our devotional on the last page, I read it this morning, and I wanted to share some thoughts about why people need Jesus in their life.

1. We need Jesus because we all have a PAST. Every single one of us have things in our past that we would love to change. We have all sinned, messed up, live with regrets, and we cannot go back and change any of it. But Jesus can go back. (Hebrews 13:8) Jesus can walk into those places of failure, hurt, sin, and wipe the slate clean in our lives, and give us a new beginning. Praise the Lord!

2. We need Jesus because we all need a FRIEND. Jesus knows the real us, the parts of us that we keep from everyone else, and He still loves us! Jesus believes the best about us, and what a friend we have in Jesus. Someone defined a fried as - "A friend is someone who walks into your life when the world walks out of your life."

3. We need Jesus because He holds the FUTURE! What can we put our trust in today? What things are trustworthy in this world today? Only Jesus can keep us safe and secure in this very insecure world. God's promise is "For I know the plans I have for you.... plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29: 11-12)

That is why people need Jesus today!!!

Invite someone to come to our Revival meetings this week!

Fall is in the air!

This morning as I got up and went running because I have a busy day today. It felt like fall with nice cool temperatures. The fall is really the start of the church year, and I look forward to getting back into the discipline of the fall.

I want to remind you that we go back to two services this weekend, back in the sanctuary. The first service is at 8 and the second service is at 10:30. We start this season off with our guests Greg and Robyn Hubbard. Why not start getting back in the routine with these special services, and invite one more person to come with you!

Looking forward to the fall!

THE BIG MOVE!

Yesterday we started the move back to the sanctuary building. I am so thankful for the many people young and old alike that came out and helped us accomplish this move so quickly!

I look forward to being back in the sanctuary and to kick it off, we will start with our Revival meetings with Greg and Robyn Hubbard. Please pray for people to come to Christ. Why do we do these kinds of things? Because of ONE MORE. One more person needs to come to Christ. I want to encourage you to invite one more person with you to come to our service this coming week because people need the Lord!

ENJOYING LIFE????

I want to encourage you to be in church tomorrow as I conclude the series on the Game of Life. How many have ever had a bad day???? We all have had them from time to time, and may be having one today. God's Word gives us some principles of how to ENJOY LIFE EVEN ON A BAD DAY!

I want to encourage you to read Psalm 27, and allow the words of this great Psalm to prepare you for tomorrow.

Why not invite someone to come to church with you tomorrow!!! Because we need to reach one more!!!

THANKFUL FOR JESUS!

I have had a day that never stopped, with so many meetings with people and church work. I am getting ready for Bible Study tonight.

I wanted to share a few words to encourage you today from Galatians 2. In verses 20-21 - I will paraphrase what I wrote in my journal today:
"It is no longer I that lives, but Christ lives in me. I livethis spiritual life by faith and trust totally in Jesus for my salvation. I must treat the grace of God as powerful as it really is. I am not saved by my background, profession (job), family, good works or religion. Because anything that I do will make void the absolute need for Jesus to die on the Cross.

I want to encourage you to walk in the wonderful grace of the Lord Jesus today and every day!

BUT THEN .....

I was writing in my journal today from Galatians 1 and came across this phrase in verse 15 - "But then something happened! For it pleased God in His kindness to choose me and call me, even before I was born. What undeserved mercy."

When you read the verses before it, Paul talks about how he thought he was right and very religious, but he was not in relationship with God. But then something happened, Christ came into his life. How many times we have been like this ourselves? We think we are right and religious but we have no relationship with Christ. But then something happened - Jesus comes into our lives and changes everything. Paul had a revelation that before he was ever born God chose Him and called Him. No matter where you are today - God has chosen you and called you for a divine purpose.

Wow! God's love and mercy was given to me before I was even born! That is good news!

Let today be a day that we can say - But then something happened!

CHANGING OUR LIVES!

God's Word tells us - "This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it." That is a choice that everyone of us must make. I must make a choice that I am going to control the things that I can control - me!

I was reading in 2 Corinthians 13:11 this morning, and it goes along with this idea. "Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words. Rejoice, change your ways, encourage each others, live in harmony and peace, then the God of love and peace will be with you."

The reality is - that if we want the favor, blessing, presence of God in our lives then we need to do the following:
1. Rejoice in the Lord. That seems to be a theme of when you read the Epistles by Paul. Rejoicing in the Lord is for my benefit more than for God's benefit. Something happens inside of us when we begin to rejoice in the Lord. We begin to get our focus on Him and not on the problems of life. Today - why not try rejoicing! It sure beats the alternative.
2. Change your ways. Paul is saying when we change our attitude it will begin to change our behavior. I am only responsible to change what I can and that is myself. I cannot change other people, my mate, my children, my parents, my friends etc. I can only change me! Remember what Paul said - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
3. Encourage each other - These are powerful words that will bring the blessing of God into our lives. We can either be a bulldozer and run over people and knock them down or we can be like a crane and pick up people. What do you think is the better way to live?
4. Live in harmony and peace.

Enough said! Lord help me to live this way today!

WELCOME BACK

I am glad to be back after General Council and a week of vacation. It was so good to be at General Council and to be spiritually refreshed and to be feed by all the services and great speakers. I was blessed to see friends that I have not seen for years. It was good to see Freddy and Terry Sanchez, Dale & Patti Coad, Pastor Efflin, and many others.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow in our next to last service in the gym. It is hard to believe that summer is almost over and we will be moving back into the Sanctuary for August 30th, when we being our Revival Meetings with Greg and Robyn Hubbard. I am asking now that you will begin to pray for these special servics, and that you will invite and bring one person with you to these meetings. Why do we do what we do as a church? BECAUSE WE NEED TO REACH ONE MORE WITH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST! Let those words seek in - ONE MORE! How many of you know ONE MORE PERSON WHO NEEDS JESUS??????
