In just a few hours we will usher in 2010! How the world has changed this past 10 years! I always look forward to the New Year, it is a new beginning. I am thankful that God is a God of new beginnings and I do not have to wait for a change in the calender.

I pray God's richest blessings on you as we go into 2010!

PRIORITIES IN A NEW YEAR

Yesterday, I blogged about the New Year, and I want to continue that thought this morning. The reality is that YOUR TIME IS PRECIOUS. What we do with our time today, we will never be able to get it back. At the end of the day, what did we do with our time.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said - "Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life."

How many have ever thought - I need more time? Well that is a wasted thought, because we will never get more time. There are 1,440 minutes in every day, and that is all we are going to get.

As we go into a New Year, what are you going to do with your time? If you cannot change time, then we must change what we do with the time that we have. I want to encourage you not to waste time in 2010.

What are you going to do with your time?

REFLECTIONS ON A NEW YEAR!

In just a couple of days we will be bringing in a New Year - 2010. It is amazing how quickly time goes by (the older you get). The older I get, the more I value time.

The reality is that time is our most precious asset that we have. As I visit with people that are dealing with life and death situations, it causes me to realize that time is precious to every person.

Think about this question: Would you rather save time or money? The average American focuses on money. But the reality is how you spend your time is much more important than how you spend your money.

Our priorities and values will determine what we do with our time. How many of us need to put time into perspective.

I read this in the book called "Today Matters" by John Maxwell. The following will help us to put time in perspective.

To know the value of one year...ask the student who failed the final exam.
To know the value of one month...ask the mother of a premature baby.
To know the value of one week...ask the editor of a weekly magazine.
To know the value of one day...ask the worker who has six children.
To know the value of one hour...ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To know the value of one minute...ask the person who missed their plane.
To know the value of one second...ask the person who survived the auto accident.
To know the value of one millisecond...ask the silver medalist in the race.

As we get ready to start a New Year let us make our time count for things that really matter for now and for eternity!

THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS!

The day after Christmas is a day when there seems to be a let down. The excitement and anticipation of Christmas is over. It is a day of putting the gifts away and the family has gone back home.

My family had a great day yesterday, with all of my family 4 other siblings, and their children and it was a noisy gathering with 25+ at my brothers house. It was just good old fun.

Today, it is over and the families have all gone their own way. It makes me realize the things that are really important are things that money cannot buy, you cannot purchase for your Wii or Playstation 2. What really matters is people!

This day after Christmas, remember to thank the Lord for the people in your life!

CHRISTMAS EVE

Christmas Eve is here and the excitement and anticipation of Christmas is mounting in the lives of children and adults. We look forward to this celebration of Christ's birth and all the other activities that have come into this day. For many, it is a day to forget about the real issues of life.

Let us remember many who can not forget about the real issues of life. I was visiting in the hospital today with two of our families that are going through a crisis with their loved ones. Life continues on, and many will not be able to sit around a Christmas tree and open gifts, eat good food and spend time with family!

Let us pray for those who are in need today, and let us remember to pray for our service men and women that are in harm's way!

Let us make room for Jesus in our Christmas celebrations!

CHRISTMAS THOUGHTS!

In two days, Christmas will be here! What a wonderful time of the year. I look forward that our entire family will be getting together and celebrating the birth of Christ. I look forward to the great food, gifts, and just reconnecting with what is going on in everyone's life.

Yesterday, I blogged about Christmas is about Reconciliation. Today, I want to share about Christmas is a time of Reconnection. We live in a world of separation, families torn apart by divorce. Single parents raising children by alone. We have a world of single adults who have never been married, divorced, and others that are grieving the lost of loved ones.

As a church we need to be about RECONNECTING TO GOD, TO ONE ANOTHER, SO THAT WE CAN CONNECT WITH OUR WORLD THAT NEEDS JESUS CHRIST!

This Christmas is there someone that you need to RECONNECT with? That is the joy of Christmas!

Merry Christmas and look forward to reconnecting with you at our Christmas Eve Services. We have two different services this year.

4:00 PM - is a service geared for our children with Pastor Mike and Phil leading this service.
6:00 PM - is our Communion Service where there will be singing of Christmas Carols, Special Music, Christmas Devotion, and Communion!

Merry Christmas!

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO FIND THIS CHRISTMAS?

After the major snow storm yesterday, it is beginning to look like Christmas around here. Personally, I hope this is the last of the snow for the season! (haha). Christmas is only a few days away, and people of all ages are looking to find something under the Christmas tree.

This Christmas, we need to find the JOY OF CHRISTMAS! Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Not because of the presents, gifts, trees, and all the food that we will eat. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year because God's love is still true. Jesus came into this world, to reach down and touch us!

How can we find joy even in difficult circumstances around us? I want to look at this over the next couple of days.

Today - THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS IS TO BE FOUND IN A SPIRIT OF RECONCILIATION. Christmas should focus our hearts on the reconciling work of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:19 - "God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself." Any celebration of Christ should have reconciliation with it.
If God is reconciling the world to Himself, then we need this same spirit of reconciliation in our lives and homes. This Christmas if you want real joy then it begins with reconciliation!

May you find real joy this Christmas!

CHOIR AT EMERALD SQUARE MALL

If you are out shopping tonight, you will here our choir singing Christmas music at the Mall in North Attleboro. What a great opportunity for our people to share the good news of Jesus Christ in our community! May God bless them as they minister to people walking through the Mall!

That is what being the Light of our World is all about! Please pray for them today for God's favor and anointing!

CONNECTING WITH PEOPLE!

Connecting with people is something that is desperately needed today in our world. We are connected by the computer on Facebook and other ways. I even saw today on Facebook - How honest can FB friends be, and then they want you to write one word about the person!
I have trouble with that idea, because that is not really connecting with people. We need to strive for better connections with people in small groups. To help with accomplishing this in our church, we are going to begin Home Groups starting in 2010. We will have a meeting on January 14th for all those who are interested in leading a group or hosting a group. Help us to help others not only connect with God, but to connect with other believers!

Connecting with you!

Christmas thoughts

When you stop to think about Christmas and the reality of this miracle, it is truly supernatural! Think of it that God became flesh, and stepped into this world because of His love for you and me.

I am working on my message for Sunday, and I am going to share on Christmas from Mary's point of view. Can you imagine what it must of been like to be Mary. The angel comes to her and tells her that she is going to give birth to the Savior of the world!

How would you feel? react? respond to this news? I see some important qualities from Mary's life that we need in our spiritual lives today!

Merry Christmas and let us be more like Mary!

JESUS IS COMING AGAIN!

I am thankful for Dave Fisher's ministry yesterday as he preached about the 2nd Coming of Jesus! We need to talk about this more in our daily lives! Jesus is coming again and we need to be ready ourselves, and to help others get ready for His return!

This Christmas season - let us not only focus on the Lord's first coming, but let us be personally ready for His second coming!

Connecting with you,
Pastor Ron

I'M BACK!

First of all I want to thank so many of you for your visits, cards, emails, calls and expressions of love. They are meaningful when you are not recovering from surgery. I am thankful for our loving and considerate church family!

I am thankful that even during our down times, the Lord can minister to us personally. I was reminded again from the 23rd Psalm. "He makes us lie down in green pastures." I am thankful that the Lord loves us so much that when he needs to He will make us lie down in good places where we can be renewed and restored!

Looking forward to all that God is going to do in 2010!!!

Connecting with you,
Pastor Ron
