As we begin 2009 we need to live in His presence on a daily basis. Psalm 16:8 - "I have set the Lord always before me." That really is a description of spiritual life. Think about it - God wants to do life with us.
When we realize that God is doing life with us it will produce the following benefits in our lives:
1. Reassurance - When I realize that God is with me I can walk through life knowing that God is with me and that I do not need to be afraid and fearful of the things that come my way in life. "I will never leave you nor forsake you." will become a reality in our lives.
2. Guidance - When I realize that God is with me, I can trust that He will guide me and give me the wisdom that I need to make right decisions. "The steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord." If I walk with Him, He will direct me steps. I want His guidance in 2009!
3. Conviction of Sin - When I realize that God is with me, when I fail, mess up, sin, His presence will be there to convict me of my sin.
4. Joy - When I walk with the Lord on a daily basis it will produce joy. God's Word tells us - "In His presence there is fullness of joy."
My prayer is that we will live in God's presence in 2009! Let us start this by spending time with Him this week as we begin a week of prayer and fasting!
