GETTING YOUR SECOND WIND...

This is great weather for people who like it nice and hot. I love this weather, however, I have had a hard time running with the heat and humidity. I have noticed that I am not able to run as fast or as far, as I am use too. It is hard to catch my second wind.

The challenge for a runner is not at the beginning. It is in maintaining your pace even when you are totally exhausted. As the race progresses, you need to catch your second wind - which is an unexplainable boost of energy. This is where you are able to continue on.

Hebrews 12: 1-2 tells us - "...let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross..."

Jesus was a man who ran His own race facing the same temptations, and struggles that we face in our lives. At His point of exhaustion, He prayed and found His "Second Wind" (Matthew 26:36-46). His race was not over, and He continued to run the race the Father had planned for Him.

No matter what you are facing today...there is still a race to run! If you are in need of a "second wind" you can find it in prayer. Keep running with the Lord and catch your "second wind."

Running the race,
Pastor Ron
